Description:The 2008 Vértice Gouveio Espumante Bruto has only five grams per litre of residual sugar—but about seven years on the lees. Half of the juice was fermented and aged in used French oak. Mark Squires of Wine Advocate describes this sparkling wine as amazing value and goes on to say ‘this is typically my favourite of the producer’s sparklers, but not easy and fruity. Pointed and focused, this is another beauty, but don’t think it’s a simple walkaround sparkler. It’s quite a bargain, though’.
