Made from a field blend of old vines grown at Secegas a ridge high above the Douro on the south side and catching the sun from dawn until dusk this is a prime location of the beautiful ripening of grapes.
The grapes are hand picked, destemmed and gently foot trodden in old lagares to release the deep colours and aromas. It is then aged in oak barrels.
Sorrir do Sol has an intense dark colour, powerful and spicy, ripe black and red fruits blackberry and blueberry, plum, violet and fennel, tobacco, coffee and burnt sugar flavours.
Unfiltered for better ageing, decant before drinking.
